I've not edited the XML before no the side menu thing is still there I just selected "None" for the menu item icons to make them invisible

I didn't expect this question from you.
I have written many times, a different widget can only be the last (eighth), in any other case you will have this problem. I even dropped this option but you probably modified the files a bit to re-enable them.

@matke This is what hapens after the 8th widget as landscape. And no I have not modified anything .

Whatever hub you have below the home would need to be above it. There can be no widgets below the 8th one on home.

I don't know then how you managed to set up a landscape widget in between poster widget. This is not the last widget.

Skin menu has 8 widgets only this widget has the option to select its viewtype . You cannot select any other widget  and I have not hacked any code to accept different view types.
Do you mean to say that only the Last Widget on the whole home screen  ( I have Home / TV Shows / Movies/Music as  the Main nodes  & each menu item I have utilized the 8 widgets & every 8th widget I used as Landcsape Mode . This is just normal skin setup for its given parameters . No xml's modified.
I understand what's happening on a very basic level. Poser viewtype in a widget demands its Particular Height & wodth. When you introduce a different size ( landscape  widget) in between  there will be discrepancy . But can we adjust that somehow so the next wodget spacing is so to enable this difference in size ?
As you say its a known bug , but can we think around this ? could this be tackled or not ?  We can take Inspiration from the main Netflix UI . They have poster & landscape widgets & then a top10 .. these are all different sizes & then they also play trailer from wthin these widgets as well. So if we are trying to be faithful then should we not try & accomodate this ? 
I can understand that time to do this is a factor. No one here is being paid , just using our own free time & believe me I and everyone here really Appreciates this. But We can have a To Do / Wish List... 
I will give an example. Around a Six month to an year ago I had suggested to Achille'sPunk regards the Netflix style screen saver. But at that time it wasnt possible. Now Matke .. you yourself have achieved this ...

Then there is something wrong with your skin installation. Maybe there is something left from the previous version if you haven't done the installation from scratch.
You edited the post in the meantime. That's right, only the latest widget can be different. I am working on a new function to make one widget in the middle bigger, to play a trailer ...Like in netflix. But it is a very demanding job.
This is still just kodi after all. Some things cannot be fully implemented.

Believe me when I say its really appreciated .. wahtever you and Achille'sPunks do here is commendable as its just of of love of Kodi ...

I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get the below to show? What setting do I turn on to get this to show? I have my OMDB and TMDB API keys entered.

It took mine about a day to start showing up after I entered my API keys.
