When ever I select a video file to play xbmc goes from full screen to windowed. This is just a minor annoyance. Its not that hard to hit the \ key.

Also try setting the xbmc resolution to the same as your desktop. That's worked for me in the past when dealing with a similar issue.
I don't have desktop effect on. I have read through many many threads, thats why I created this post.

In Settings - Videos - Player; is the resolution set correctly?
I have it set on 480p on a SD set.
problem solved. I changed the video resolution to 1280x1024 (fullscreen) and everything is going well.
