Full Version: Audio Sync problem

I've just installed XBMC on PC with an ASUS m2npv-vm motherboard.

I started with a copy of Mythbuntu and everything is working for video playback of xvid AVI files.

Video is played through the DVI-I connection and Audio through the SPDIF to an amp.

With XBMC the audio is out of sync with the video by up to a second on all files. The same files play through Mythtv and Windows Media player so the problem is not with the files.

CPU usage while playing the video is 10-15%

The Kernel is 2.6.24-19-generic and I'm using the nvidia drivers for X.

Is there something I need to know about the audio set-up.

Thanks

The videos play fine with mythtv, using mplayer. The sync gets dramatically worse if I use fast forward or rewind.

My apologies for disturbing you.

I obviously missed something.

Don’t worry about responding. I’ve decided to stick with the application that works for me.
althekiller is referring to the xbmc.log, which is critical for debugging issues.
