I follow the description from "Use the steps described in the Ubuntu documentation with the following repositories . You might not need to add the deb-src one"

The package is installed in folder /user/share/XBMC. Is this right?
This is a restricted folder for root user.

So when i try to lanuch the program it just pop up for 2 seconds, them close again.

What am I doing wrong?

Run it from a terminal and paste any output.

You need to run the launcher script that is installed as /usr/bin/xbmc NOT (UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES) /usr/share/xbmc/xbmc.bin directly. You're getting segv cause you're installed in a privileged dir and not using platform mode (which makes xbmc write to ~/.xbmc).

I have a AMD64 and ATI Radeon X1250 onboard GPU

Anyone that have a solution on this problem?

what resolution are you running at? what kind of connection to monitor? dvi/hdmi/vga...

Sorry, but I don`t know how to create a back trace yet. (I`am doing some research on Google now)

But I am running it on a Sony W4000 LCD TV, HDMI, resolution is 1920*1080. Have also tried it on a different resolution but with same fault.

You get the fault at 0x8e when you're running at other resolutions or is it a different number? There's a sticky on this forum about creating back traces. Are you running full screen?

Not running in full screen.
And in this resolution the program dos not crash, but it`s wrong resolution in the window. I can`t see setting. At the bottom in the screen i can see weather...
