Hi there,
i just tried to upgrade Kodi from 19.0 to 19.1 with this:

Code:
sudo apt update
sudo apt upgrade --with-new-pkgs

but nothing happens... No
I don't think 19.1 was packaged so there is nothing for apt to pull down.
Are you sure?
In the package-list of Kodi stable there is an entry:
Code:
kodi          2:19.1+git20210509.0555-85e05228b4-0~hirsute          Wolfgang Schupp (2021-05-09)
I am not sure/I haven't run Debian/Ubuntu is years.  If you're seeing an entry in a repo for a new version, and if you have apt configured to hit that repo, I don't understand why it wouldn't happily pull down the newer version.  As an aside, I don't recall needing/using the --with-new-pkgs switches before.

Yes, me too... Confused
Is it available now?

If not, please get us the output of sudo apt update && apt-cache policy kodi
No, its still not available here.
The wanted output is following:

Thanks for your answer!
Well,
so do you think there is something wrong on my side?
Is there somebody, who can confirm, that the repo is ok?
1. you seem to have a kodi package for ubuntu 19.10 (groovy installed), but you are running ubuntu 21.04
2. you don't have the stable ppa enabled

kodi 19.1 is definitely available in the ppa: https://launchpad.net/~team-xbmc/+archiv.../+packages http://ppa.launchpad.net/team-xbmc/ppa/u...in/k/kodi/

Yes, i know...
But that does not help me, because here on my side it seems, the repo is empty?!

And yes, the installed version 19.0 is the groovy-version. I installed it in february - at that time there was no hirsute.

As I see it, the TeamXBMC-repo for ubuntu currently contains only the main binary and one pvr addon in a hirsute version. Everything else is missing. I updated to this version, but you necessarily end up with a mixture of versions, as all the other addons necessary for a proper Kodi are missing.
Moreover, there seem to be lots of Python related problems with this Kodi version. I ended up going back to Kodi 19.0 as packaged by Ubuntu to get a reasonably working system.
Uhuh. What Nosepull said :-)

I initially installed 19.1 from the PPA, but the three things I require to integrate with existing media network stuffs (pvr.hts, pvr.mythtv and vfs.sftp) were (/are) not yet packaged for Hirsute.

So I settled for 19.0 from Ubuntu. For about 24 hours, then a couple of hours ago I built git master (shows as 20.0-ALPHA1 (19.90.101)). Easy build, although took a while to execute, and all seems well so far...

Cheers,
 Mattt.
right, this is a bug in our jenkins build scripts.
I'm manually pushing addons to the ppa atm
Thanks wsnipex!

There are a lot of the addons now in the hirsute -repo.
But sorry - here on my side i still can not upgrade neither kodi nor the addons...
How can that be possible?!
idk, broken system?

full output of: apt policy kodi
and: apt full-upgrade
