Full Version: how to create SMB share - symbolic link/junction folders

I am running Mac OS - Big Sur

I have one share folder e.g.
Kodi

Now on the same MacOS machine I have many other HDDs that contain my movies and TV shows..

I want to create just one Share folder - Kodi
and within that folder have symbolic link or directory junctions folders that are actually on the other HDDs.

I tried creating symbolic link folders on the mac but Kodi cannot see those symbolic link folders
even though I can access those folders within the Mac.

I have also auto mounted this mac share folder within Kodi and can access the share folder.
does Kodi have Full Disk Access permission?

how do I check?
Kodi is running on a pi3b (librelec)
It can play files that are shared in that folder on the mac.
It just can't see the sym link folders on the mac.

I auto mounted the share via cifs.mount file on librelec.. because Big sur has issues with the normal way of smb share with Kodi.
