Hi there.

The Kodi installation on my Windows desktop (which I use primarily for library maintenance) has all of a sudden started crashing after the splash screen.  It was working fine right up until my most recent Windows update (yesterday).  As far as I know, nothing Kodi-related changed.

The details (from the debug log):
  • Kodi (19.1 (19.1.0) Git:20210508-85e05228b4). Platform: Windows NT x86 64-bit
  • Windows 10 21H1, kernel: Windows NT x86 64-bit version 10.0.19043.1110
  • Host CPU: Intel® Core™ i7-9700 CPU @ 3.00GHz, 8 cores available
  • System has 16.0 GB of RAM installed
  • skin.estuary.modv2 v3.0.9+matrix
  • Absolutely no streaming add-ons, but some non-standard (mostly Estuary Mod V2 and its supporting add-ons).
  • MYSQL: Connected to version 5.5.59-MariaDB (I've updated to 5.5.68, and the problem persists)
  • Debug log: https://paste.kodi.tv/secumuquvi.kodi (Although it's not consistent about where it dies.  This one seems to be one of the longer ones.)
The database is kept on a Sinology DiskStation NAS box.  Note that I also run Kodi on an Android box pointing at the same server, and it continues to work.

This configuration has been stable for years, except for updating the Estuary ModV2 skin to the Matrix-compatible version.  And it was definitely working the day I updated my box.

Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated.

Okay, I think this one should be clean: https://paste.kodi.tv/gesilosema.kodi.  No red text, at least (assuming that's the indicator).

And still crashing during the splash screen, so I don't think it was anything I took out.
Try installing latest 19.x nightly from here http://mirrors.kodi.tv/nightlies/windows/win64/Matrix/
You can install it over your existing 19.1 installation.
19.1 has a bug which causes Kodi to crash under certain conditions.
Nightlies already have a fix for that bug/

That seems to have done it.  Thanks.
Thread marked solved.
