Regards, sorry me for my bad english.
I use kodi for windows 10 to play tv channels.
Some channels play correctly.
An error screen appears on some channels that says: "Error. Kodi Windows Store installation does not support Widevine CDM. Please use the installer from kodi.tv" Click OK.
Do you know how it can be solved?
Thanks bye.
uninstall the kodi you installed from microsoft store.

and then install kodi using the "Installer" links from below:

Whilst already aware of this shortfall (and with XB1 edition) i'm aware in years gone by you looked into work arounds here Matt.

Out of curiosity are you any the wiser if this is something that will be likely to be overcome in future?

Aware not really right place to ask (but neither was original post Wink )

p.s Thanks for all your addons mate, SkyGo and Spark one been a lifesaver at times Smile
no workarounds. simply use the installer version Smile
No solution for XB1.
only solution would be to include the widevine blob in the UWP build which team kodi cant do and MS wouldnt accept it either i suspect
MS playready drm would work fine on xb1 as thats what the official disney+ and netflix apps for xb1 use. Any chance to use that? @matthuisman
Inputstream Adaptive would need to support it for starters: https://github.com/xbmc/inputstream.adaptive/issues/504
Sorry for my bad English.
I installed kodi x64 and tried to open those TV channels that gave me error asking for Widevine to be installed, which is not possible with the kodi app on the microsoft store.
I want to clarify that these are legal channels, those of digital terrestrial.
With kodi x64 he made me install Widevine and the channels can be played.
I understand that Widevine is developed by Google Inc as a permission to reproduce legal content.
Maybe Google hasn't allowed Microsoft to use Widevine?
What's the reason?
Is it not possible in any way to install Widevine on the kodi app on the microsoft store?
Thanks.
basically UWP apps run in a sandbox that can't run external dlls.
So the widevine blob would need to be included with kodi itself - which won't happen.

Widevine in UWP (Windows store or Xbox) will not work.
if on windows - install using the exe installer - really simple.
if xbox - no solution

thats the last i will respond about this.
It is a pity that it is not possible to install Widevine on kodi for microsoft store.
Thanks.
