Full Version: Kodi crashes when navigating to network settings

I someday suddenly couldn`t play files from my network storage on Kodi on my Desktop PC anymore. I checked a few things but since I have a Laptop on which it still worked and didn't have much time, I just did't use it anymore. The Problem was that either after a few seconds Kodi just crashed, or it crashed when I tried to play a file. Since I have a little bit more time now I tried to narrow it down and completely reinstalled it, tried some older Versions and a nightly build but I still had the same Problem. Then I noticed, that even if I have a fresh installation without adding any media or doing anything else and navigate to Settings->System Info->Network kodi freezes a second and then crashes before the Network Info is shown. Somehow the freeze takes several seconds longer if I disconnect my internet connection. I updated the driver of my LAN Adapter and checked my firewall settings but this didn't fix it either. It is propably some Windows setting but I can't seem too find anything and I would rather avoid reinstalling Windows. I hope someone can help me with what happens when navigating to Network and has an idea what could make kodi crash at this point.

TLDR:
Fresh Kodi 19.3 installation freezes a second and crashes when navigating to Settings->System Info->Network (before the network settings are shown). Frozen several seconds longer when not connected to the internet. Laptop in same Network with same Kodi and Windows Version has no Problems

Things I tried:
-checking firewall
-check hosts file
-updating Network Adapter
-updating Windows
-complete reinstall of kodi (with deleting AppData folder)
-installing older Versions (18.6, 19.0 and 19.2)

Things I'd like to avoid if possible:
Reinstalling Windows

Kodi version: 19.3.0
Windows version: Windows 10 Pro 10.0.19044 64-bit
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X
RAM: 32 gb
Try this build that fixes some network related things:

Even if fix crash probably the root cause is something wrong in Windows network settings.
Thank you, this build works!

"Even if fix crash probably the root cause is something wrong in Windows network settings."
You are right, in the long run I will have to reinstall Windows (and I will in the next few weeks). But with this I can still watch my stuff until then, so thanks again Big Grin .
This fix are merged into master/Matrix branch. Latest build includes it:
