The title sums it up: I've tried to delete a TV shows tag (that I previously created) via Context Menu -> Manage -> Remove from library but it persists.

I can confirm that it does not work for TV Shows.
Removing the tag from Movies does work.
Maybe @black_eagle can have a quick look... https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/pull/18549

In the mean time you can use the Remove TV Shows option. Highlight all the tv shows to be removed and the tag will be removed.
