Not yet.

HDR tonemaps correctly to SDR.

Concerning HDR... Last time I watched (presumably) HDR content, colours were quite 'off'. Red teeth, that kinda stuff. I think it was on 19.3 still. Is that fixed now? Do I need to set anything up for that to work on XBOX One S?
Doesn't sound right.

While playing something open the OSD menu and go into Video settings there and you should find tone mapping settings, by default the algorithm used is Reinhard which isn't always the best, so try changing to one of the other, with most seeming to prefer Hable. This also an adjustment for the tone mapping there.

You quoted the answer.

OK.

I tried the different options yesterday, but it still doesn't look right. Or is this because it's a 4K file, maybe...? The software is 19.4 now.
Using something like MediaInfo post the video specs.

You need "set as default for all media"

I changed the settings as per that link and set it for all media, but that didn't work. UWP VLC doesn't have the issue, by the way. I checked that yesterday.
Why does the dpae not respond until several seconds after launch?

Thanks
I just had to create a profile to tell how happy and satisfied I'm with the new 19.4! It's running very smooth on my Xbox Series S with no issues.

Great work of those who have participated!!

Love
I have an LG C1 and an Xbox Series X. Kodi 19.4 does not switch the C1 into HDR mode when an HDR video is played.

The same 1:1 UHD Blu-ray rips play correctly with Plex, however. Are there any other reports of displays not recognizing the HDR metadata with v19.4?
As said in this thread HDR playback isn't supported.
I have an HEVC/X265 HDR file that plays back VERY red and green. No amount of tinkering will sort this out. It's almost as if the tone settings have zero affect on this mis-matched colour.

I need to do further investigation with other HDR files, however, this is the first time I have come across this since using Kodi on Series X!

Has anyone else got the same problem?

Pass through working perfectly here, had to set Xbox to 7.1 uncompressed, restart Xbox, set Kodi to pass through enabled, check all formats. Kodi didn't show pass through option without restart.
I also understand HDR isn't supported and I am not expecting HDR playback. My other HDR files play SD colour match fine, just the X265 one has iasues.

Are there plans to support native HDR playback in the future? Shame when most us are already playing HDR games with these consoles.
