The VideoReDo Vprj version 2 is outdated. Please upgrade to current version 5.

How is this related to Kodi?

Please provide a sample .vproj file generated for a media item with the new syntax and our supported edit types (mute, commbreak and cut) and I might take a stab at it later. Afaik videoredo requires a license and I didn't find any public documentation for the new format.

Yep, a valid licence is required. I upgraded a few months back to the latest version.
When I've contacted their support directly in the past via the email address on their site, they were very helpful and responded almost immediately with the info I needed at the time.
Maybe ask them direct and see if can provide any documentation.
Worth a try I guess.
