Hello
This is my very first post and I really hope I am in the right forum for my question.
Hope somebody can help me .
I have added external players to be used for playback.
When choosing a video to play from file I can right click and choose which one of the players I wish to use.
How can I set up so I can have this choice when streaming a movie ?
Presently it will simply play with the default player
Any help appreciated

You will need to be much more specific about what you are trying to do.

From what I understand you are able to select an external player when playing a movie from your local library but cannot replicate this when "streaming a movie"? By this do you mean a movie via an addon? 

I would suspect that each addon operates differently so you would need to be specific about which addon you are trying to do this with. As you are new to the community please familiarise yourself with our Forum Rules around Banned Add-ons (wiki) and piracy policy though.

Another question would be why the need for an external player instead of Kodi's excellent player?

Actually I think now I was having a brain fade or had a glitch in the system.
When I rebooted the pc today all was good
Right click on all movies (from file or streaming from Crackle) now gives me option to choose which player
So now no problem
