I have been using tvheadend with iptvsimple which works well.
I noticed in tvh when a sort index other than '0' for each channel group is used, channel groups coming from tvh are sorted nicely following the specified order.
However, erratic behaviour follows with the channel groups for iptvsimple.

Channel groups defined in iptvsimple are missing in the channel group listings on clients but do appear when fiddling with sort criteria ('by backend', 'by provider'), some non-tvh groups might pop up randomly (never all, but some in random order)
Before i might dive deeper into this, i am wondering if this might be expected behaviour (since iptvsimple does not have sort index options) or maybe there's a known workaround for this behaviour. Any experiences?

I had the same problem, I fixed it by leaving the first groups to "IPTV Simple Client" and started to index the Tvheadend groups from 3, 4 or any .

Ah, yes.
I had client priority settings mixed up in pvr&livetv. After correcting that and avoiding possible overlaps,all is well.
