So I add a season to my TV shows folder, but on the main screen it shows all the episodes, wondering if there is an option somewhere to only show the first one I haven't seen, then after I watch it the next will be sitting in the menu?
the "main screen" - the main screen where, the main home screen? the main tv shows screen?

this is also skin dependent so what skin?

Yes main home screen where you mouse over the TV shows and it shows whatever was put there most recently, I use Confluence, sorry I should have included that
If it's not that skin which skin supports this?

Do you know of a skin that would work?

in my own customized version of Estuary i have a widget row pointing to videodb://inprogresstvshows

that row lists all the shows i am watching, 1 entry per each, when that 1 entry is clicked it plays the next unwatched episode for that show

it has been several months and mods since i set it up so i dont currently recall what else i may have changed to make it play the next episode - if anything

-----

without custom changes to the skin, Estuary Mod V2 supports custom widgets and i believe you would be able to add the videodb://inprogresstvshows row from the front-end menus

the thread for that is here - https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=366400

if i understand the end goal you are going for then this would be in line with it
Not without modding Confluence. You could just hide them and use the sub menu 'In Progress' to access your currently watching shows.
