Full Version: Why are Movie Posters cropped?

I'm unfortunately at my wits end with this software. I had previously invested considerable time into sourcing the posters for my collection, with all of them being high quality and strictly adhering to the standard movie poster aspect ratio of 2:3. However, after importing the collection into Kodi using local content as the source, I've found that all the posters are being cropped and as a result some even have parts of their titles cut out. In the following image the original poster is on top and the screenshot of the Kodi library on bottom, and as you can see by the red guide lines I've added, a substantial portion of the sides of the poster are missing:

Does anyone know why Kodi is cropping the posters and if there's anyway to fix this issue?
That doesn't look like Estuary to me - what skin is it?

That's right, I'm using Arctic Zephyr 2 Mod (pkscout).

Here is a screenshot in Estuary, as you can see the cropping is even worse as it's now on all sides:

I just figured out that, for some bizarre reason, Kodi will change the proportions of the posters based on the screen size. I'm in windowed mode and when I reduce the width of the screen the posters get even further cropped:

What kind of responsive design is this and how do I disable it.

That's not Kodi, it's the skin. Just use another skin.

As you can see in my previous reply, the issue is still very much present in Estuary as that's where that screenshot was taken.
Estuary is a skin and this skin uses 290x400 pixels for poster view (see View_54_Infowall.xml, section InfoWallMovieLayout include). if you can calculate you'll see that this is not the propagated format of 2:3 which has to use a property of 266x400 in this case. In conjunction with the aspect ratio method "scale" borders will be cut off: https://kodi.wiki/view/Aspect_Ratio

So in other words it's broken.
Thanks for the info anyway!
