I hope to support the CRT shader, which is required for playing 480p old movies

What little help it will be I'll second that request. I've been trying to find a way to overlay shaders, proper shaders not just an scanline overlay, onto video. Thanks to retro games emulation there's plenty of great shaders to choose from, we'd just need the ability to use them.

I'd like CRT shaders as well.

RetroArch can show shaders but it's video player (ffmpeg) is very bad and barebones. Being able to use shaders with Kodi would be amazing.
