Simplest might be to use the existing the "Torrent-X", "TorrentBrowser", "Xbox Sky Torrent Browser", and/or "Torrent-controller" scripts for XBMC as a base for the GUI to start from.

The package is now registered with PyPi so you can install it with "easy_install PyTorrent"

If you think transmission would be the better client to go with, I am all for it. Its great that he is willing to work with us on the api.
I hope someone is willing to take on this project as i believe it would be great for xbmc.
