I reported this problem in another topic before, but it deserves it's own topic.

When I try to do the following:

Go to Video -> add source -> browse -> When I add to add it manualy, I fill in the details for my smb share. And then it crashes with this error:

*** stack smashing detected ***: /usr/local/share/xbmc/xbmc.bin terminated

I am running Ubuntu 8.04 on an AMD Athlon X2 4800+ with an Ati Radeon X1950pro (using binary fglrx 8.9 driver).
And have confirmed this problem on a laptop running Ubuntu 8.04 with a C2D T5500 and GMA950. So I guess it is ubuntu or xbmc related.

If more information is needed, I can provide it.

Can anyone help me with this?
I'm getting the same problem - XBMC crashes whenever I try to do anything with samba shares (whether I type it in directly or try browsing for it).

Lemme guess x86_64?
Yes, it is the 64 bit edition. Should I install the 32 bit edition instead?
