Hi All,
I'm new here, and also a new user for XBMC. I tried the windows version first to see if i liked the software (i do!!).
And wanted to fit my desktop computer with this for use as a media center! I tried the Live version which worked GREAT from disc! But when I installed, I only got a black screen + cursor (the dos one
).
I installed it to my 80 gb Sata disc which failed. BUTTT then I tried to install it on my 200GB P-ata (ide) drive, and it worked!!! This was a wild guess but it sounded logical since the DVD-drive is on the P-ata port to!
This might not be usefull for everyone (since not everyone has the accient P-ata drives anymore) but it worked for me.. and might be a proper place to start checking the software/OS.
System specs:
AMD Athlon XP 3500+
MSI mainboard
Nvideo Geforce 6800 GT
Creative Audigy 2
Maxtor 200 GB P-ata
80 GB Maxtor S-ata
