Full Version: iTunes integration needs network connection?

Hello and a very nice day to all of you!

I'm new to xbmc and currently installed it on my intel macbook.
I have stored all my music files on an external firewire hdd and also stored the iTunes library on that drive.

When I open up xbmc and try to import my iTunes library it always tells me that there's no network connection available. Okay I have no network cable plugged, but why does it require one?

I've followed some instructions found here in the forum or elsewhere:

http://wiki.xbmc.org/?title=ITunes_(DAAP)

I've also tried firefly, and also tried to change the "filename" string in the default.py file in the plugins directory. But none of this methods worked for me?!

So could you please give me some hints or tell me why there must be a network connection for showing "local" content (iTunes)

Thanks in advance
ursvamp

EDIT:
By default I'm connected through a DHCP server with the lan or the internet, so I have no IP-Adresses configured for my macbook.
Maybe this information is useful for somebody?
