I don't know if it is a isolated problem, but When I put my ubuntu 8.10 to sleep Lirc was noot working anymore, I found a workaround and now I can suspend my computer and resume, and I stil have the Remote working.
But when I put the computer for sleep for a long time (around 6 hours), when I resume it lirc is working but slowly and even if in unload and reload the needed module, same problem. And Xbmc does not accept any command from the remote. The only solution is to put again the computer to sleep and resume it, and everythings will work again!?
