Hi,

I have downloaded the latest XBMC and played with it to see if it is a
worthy replacement for my networked Ziova CS505 DVD player.

My main use is DVD iso files, which the Ziova handles perfectly, and
now also mkv files, which the Ziova dont support.

I have tested my mac mini+xbmc on both my own crt tv using a video adapter, and on a friends 50" plasma tv (pioneer PDP-LX5090) using DVI-HDMI cable.

On the plasma setup I find that picture quality is generally very good,
but there seems to be an issue with movement/panning.

on scenes with horizontal or vertical pannings, there seems to be some kind
of disturbance in the picture during the panning, or even when smaller
objects is moving.Im sure you experts have a word for it, but Im not quite sure how to explain it.disturbance/blurring/picture ripping.it shouldnt be there.
this happens on both DVD isos, original dvds and 720p mkv files, all tested files.

playing the movie on the dvd player sw supplied with mac os, this does not
happen.it also never happens when playing the same dvd or dvd iso on
the ziova player. The plasma tv reports 1080p, as is the setting in xbmc.
pressing the o button, theres no frame skipping, and the frame counter is
at 24fps or very close to, when playing hd content.
this also happens when using video output on crt tv.

Are there any settings to fix this, or is this a known issue to be
fixed in a later update?

Other than this, Im very impressed with xbmc. The only other bug Ive encountered so far is audio dropout during 30s skips.that means, theres no sound after a skip.the audio is back on the next skip, but it goes away when
skipping back to the same part again.pushing pause and then play sometimes
restores the audio.

thanks in advance for any replies.
Try turning on V-Sync

well, that certainly did the trick in regards to my crt TV (dont own a
HD tv yet, but will soon), so thanks for the tip!
I get the audio dropouts on skips when playing .iso's.
