Hi
I sent an email off to HDPLEX, a company that makes NMTs (Kaiboer, etc.).
They were kind enough to respond, and this is what they said. I don't know if it's of any use, but I thought it might be important to share:
Cheers

Quote:Hi,
XBMC is cross platform and Sigma’s SoC does run linux on them.
But in order to run XBMC, you would need OPENGL environment which if I am not mistaken Sigma SoC does not support.
Secondly, ffmpeg, XBMC’s decoder, rely on CPU raw power instead of hardwired decoder. The next generation 8644/8654 only has 500/677Mhz MIPS.
So in order to run XBMC on Sigma’s SoC, there is still a long way to go given someone make a open source box.
Believe me, if we could make a SoC box capable of running XBMC, we would KILL to achieve this.
Thanks.
