is the XBMC live Disc enabled for SMP so it can take advantage of the multiple cores in today's processors?

I ask because a quad core if SMP is enabled in the Linux kernel will help a lot for a playback machine in offloading all theOS crap so a Core is completely used only for Video decoding.
