Today I tried to login to my appletv.local via transmit using

username: frontrow
pasword: frontrow

this results in permission denied

I'm not sure why this is happening.

And without any details, there's no way anyone can help you Smile

And stick to the forum if you have questions. I don't have time to answer PMs and more important, no one else with a similar issue will be able to search the forums for a solutions (Assuming anyone actually searches anymore).

As for details, how about starting with versions, atv, launcher, xbmc. You do have ssh installed? No clue about "transmit", is that an application? Linux, OSX or Windows? I use ssh from the command-line under OSX and Linux. Don't do Windows so can't help you there.

Did it work before? Did your AppleTV auto-update?
solved:
Netbarrier X5 had stopped communication. once I removed it from the stop list everything started talking.

XBMC on a appleTV all the latest version
Transmit is a FTP program for the Mac.

Do I need to turn off auto-update?
After update to 2.3 you need to change some settings

SFTP Protocol instead of ftp
Port 22 instead of 21

Cheers
