I have no internet at home and wonder if thats why my menus are not getting populated correctly do the thumbnails get extracted from the movies or do they get downloaded?

pretty much any, there are no thumbnails, or anything in videos, movies, tv, music
My directories on my nas were all setup before xbmc in this way
\\nas\videos\tv\{show name}\{season number}\{show name}S##E##{misc info}.{ext}
In the folder it also has a NFO SFV and folder.png
Not sure what mediastream uses to get its info..since I can't use the sources
Note: I can browse files just fine...just no icons or info for them

Did you set the content and run a scraper on the directories? If not, then please take some time and check out the MANUAL, it explains all of this stuff in detail.

No internet = no ability to scrape the data. Your naming conventions are correct, but XBMC still needs to get to the 'net to gather the data.
