Hello everyone
I wanted to get myself a NAS and a mediaplayer and thought I could do that myself.
Now I have a problem. I installed Ubuntu Intrepid and then XBMC. It runs fine until I try to give it an internet link to a mp3.asx or a m3u file. I also tried saving the m3u locally and playing that.
The last thing actually worked but as soon as I want to PLAY it, xbmc just vanishes.
Now I'm wondering, could any of the following things be the cause?
I realized I didn't have any sound at all. I guess I'll have to configure the hardware first.
Speaking of hardware, I have a Asus P5Q-EM board with an Intel grafics chip. Is that a big no-go or will I be able to make this work?
I have installed the system on a 16 gig high speed flash drive via USB. I also installed the 64bit ubuntu version with gnome. Is that okay or does XBMC explicitly need a system without window manager?
Well, that's that for now. Thanks in advance for your help.
