Hey there,
i just got my brand new MacMini Smile and would love to buy a remote for it. I was thinking of the AppleRemote, but i don't know how good it is?!? It has just 6 Buttons (well 12 i think if you include the "hold down" option)
I was wondering if you are satisfied with your AppleRemotes?
Is there still the possibility to power my MacMini on and off (if the hold down button is mapped to something else) with the remote?
Thanks,
BliBlaBlo
I use the AppleRemote and it works. That's pretty much all I can say about it. It's not very good so I would recommend you look for alternatives. Unfortunately I can't suggest any.
a budget would be good to know.

But I taught my harmony one the apple codes for good now. And I never looked back.

The philips pronto, high end stuff. It always looked intriguing, specifically because you can write apps for it. So technically, an app could be written for it based on the web API, which would give you pretty near 100% functionality of XBMC on a sweet remote.
