Hello,
does anyone know how I can get 23.976 fps for my nvidia 9400? I can only choose 24, 50 and 60. I'm using this xorg.conf http://217.20.138.65/xbmc/xorg.conf.

Just out of curiosity, why do you need exactly 23.976 fps? Why don't you just use 24fps? I doubt that you can see the difference of 0.024 fps.
I had to put a special modeline into my xorg.conf to get 23.976fps with my nvidia card and Samsung hdtv.

I'm currently at work, I'll post it when I get home.
If I select 24Hz I get a/v sync issues. I tried to take the timinigs I've got in Powerstrip using Windows Vista but until yet nothing works. I will create a text file containing all resolutions/frequencies I wanna use and post it here. Hopefully then someone can tell me how to put these into my xorg.conf =)
ModeLine "[email protected]" 74.175 1920 2558 2602 2750 1080 1084 1089 1125 +hsync +vsync

It actually depends on your TV, these figures vary depending on overscan/porch etc.
Thanks! After much of trying it's working now! =)
But according to nVidia Control Center in Windows 1080/24p doesn't use 23.976 but 23.69x. I found this out using Powerstrip and it gives me the a Modeline containing 74.129 instead of 74.175.
So which one should I use? And is it possible that there are still a/v sync issues using
ModeLine "[email protected]" 74.175 1920 2558 2602 2750 1080 1084 1089 1125 +hsync +vsync
and playing a 23.976fps movie or is it just my fantasy, which could be more than possible =)

You can calculate the exact Hz with following pattern

pixelclock*1000000/htotal/vtotal

So for example this
74.175 1920 2558 2602 2750 1080 1084 1089 1125 +hsync +vsync

74.175 * 1000000 / 2750 / 1125 = 23.975

Here's mine 24p modeline, it's almost accurate 23.9761 Hz

Modeline "1920x1080_24" 74.23 1920 2560 2604 2752 1080 1084 1089 1125 +hsync +vsync

and here 50p for 25fps material, exactly 50.00Hz

Modeline "1920x1080_50" 148.50 1920 2448 2492 2640 1080 1084 1089 1125 +hsync +vsync
