Ok, I have switched my media center needs to my old computer that doesnt have a sound card in it. What I would like is something that can do 5.1/7.1 with little fuss setting it up in ubuntu 9.04. I was looking at this card http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6829102003 yet it seemed looking around the ubuntu forums there was issues with the audigy.

My main question is does any one have suggestions for a card that will actually work with ubuntu and not have me returning it because of issues later down the road?

Any light that could be shed here would be awesome.

Im a complete newbie to linux but somehow i got everything working perfectly video(vdpau), audio and remote. This card worked for me out of the box, digital and analog signals http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6829111002 wait..........9.04? im still using 8.10 but you might want to give it a try.
