i'm having a real nightmare getting the ip address set-up on 2 x-box's running xbmc. seeing as its on both, i am guessing its finger trouble on my part rather than a problem with the software, but who knows, maybe you can help.

to initially get an ip on the box, i am using a boot disk. i then connect via ftp, get the xml config file off to my pc, add the ip address, subnet mask and default gateway and then ftp the file back on to the x-box. i then take out my boot disk, re-boot the x-box and it retains the ip address from my boot disk and does not use the one in the config file!

any ideas what i am doing wrong?

do you use xbmc as dashboard? if so, try editing the xml file in the xbmc home directory as well as the one in c:\ to reflect the changes...

or better yet, make sure that home tag is set correctly in c:/xboxmediacenter.xml if you use it as dashboard
