i have that show in my library and its fine.

I have the same .xml and my clearArt is name < The Sarah Connor Chronicles.png > and the show folder name is < Terminator The Sarah Connor Chronicles > without colons and dont know how its all working fine.

Code:
<control type ="image">
        <description>tv show image</description>
        <posx>1049</posx>
        <posy>-108</posy>
        <width>230</width>
        <height>115</height>
        <texture diffuse="thumbs/movieposter_mask.png">clearArt/$INFO[VideoPlayer.TVShowTitle].jpg</texture>
        <visible>VideoPlayer.Content(episodes)</visible>
    </control>

thats why I was telling you about the case sensitive
Code:
$INFO[VideoPlayer.TVShowTitle].jpg
because it checks against that and if you see in xbmc it display the show title all in caps and even on the show .nfo its different.

so you have the real name, the .nfo name the folder name and the image name all different and still works, if it was case sensitive it would be a mess to make it work cross-platform in terms of the skin not the application you have only one skin for all platform.
Only aeon shows the title in all caps, and that is due to the font used.
Sorry the title should be capitalized exactly as it is in the nfo to work crossplatform.

On the topic of the colon, I'd be interested to see the nfo file for your Sarah Connor show to check if the title is proper there.

<title>Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles</title>

My filename is

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.png

I've just tried The Sarah Connor Chronicles.png and it does NOT work.
Code:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<tvshow xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema">

am using that on the mac with Aeon skin
How difficult would it be to pull the file from the base directory of each series?
Like I said before this could solve all the problems users of various OSes are facing.
how difficult ?
hummm let me think...

is "impossible" difficult enough ? Big Grin
when the video is launched, we have only access to the VideoPlayer. properties
(ListItem is destroyed) and none of them can give us the path to a folder
That's what I said, about the importance of having xbmc team create a new field in the db, so that they can had a VideoPlayer.clearart wich would store the path to the clearart or something like that...
I guess impossible is a good answer. :p
So the other option aside from waiting for the devs is to parse the title removing spaces and punctuation and the such.
If anybody has requests I'll try and fill them....If you can find me the image, that would help, because some shows I have no clue who the main characters are.
Imaginos is right.
there is no images for tvshow at Playing level, just the episode thumb

I request this a few weeks ago
http://trac.xbmc.org/ticket/6607

is not the same but instead of
Code:
VideoPlayer.clearArt
it would be better
Code:
VideoPlayer.path
that way you will get more possibilities to do other things not just pull the clearArt.
Just started using these. Wow. You guys are awesome. Well done.
