Full Version: Moved harddrives to another PC and edit paths, but xbmc does not play them

So it's like I said in the title. I have moved my harddrives to another computer. So I thought it would be ok to just edit the paths, but xbmc does not play them.

Any suggestion how I could work this out without scanning everything into the library?
Sorry to bump an old thread, but this problem had me pulling my hair out a year ago.

So for everyone who doesn't know what the problem actually is, its because Ubuntu cant play remote files when you are just browsing over the network, but if you mount the drives then they will play fine.

Heres a sample mount command:

smbmount //192.168.0.100/SomeNetworkFolder /home/username/Mount -o username=networkusername,password=networkpassword

I use Samba for my shares since i found it was easier to set up.
