I think a more focused logging would be nice.
So I suggest a tree structure for error logging when enabling logging everything is logged - but if you know what you have a problem with you simply just go to that subnode and enable that. This way you can prevent a spammed log file.

patch welcome. oh wait, not even that. this would be silly. we WANT a spammed log file, cause most users have no clue what is relevant or not.

Agreed. PITA enough to get people to enable debugging at all. Enabling debugging of A and B, disabling it on C, D and E would just be way out of the grasp of 90% of users.
