Did you allready donwloaded my created debian packages ?

I saw on the download site of my project that only 1 download was made.

I guees I need some feedback to know that the 2 packages are ok ....

Are they running on a 64 System ?
I made the packages for 32 Bit ....
On request I would also make a 64 bit release .....

Regards from switzerland
Hans

ps : Switzrland should called Land of Rain ....
Hello Users

I would like to know how many of you have a seperate dvd and a bluereay ?
Should I add a seperate section for the blueray-device inside the settings ?
Or should I use the device definition inside the configuration for dvd and blueray operations ?

Regards
Hans
Hello Users

I guess there are 2 ways to transcode a blueray to mkv.

- Complet disc with all chapters .... (needs a lot more of space compared to a single chapter)

- Or only a selected chapter ..... But this leeds me to a problem ..

With the commandline interface from makemkvcon I see only how-many chapters are on disc.

- I don't see the duration of the track
- I don't see the audio-Languages within the track

Has someone a stupid trick to show the track info ?

In the gui duration of a track is showed ....

Should I use chapter mode or dumping the complet blueray ?

Regards from a country where the rain never ends ....

Hi Hans. In my case (as well as a few friends), we all have one device that does DVD and Bluray. So I can think the device definition inside the configuration for bluray operations is ok.

I just downloaded the deb packages this morning and will install them later today and report feedback on the packages. I am using a 32-bit version of Ubuntu on my XBMC machine.

I think this question could be answered by the people the on the MakeMKV forums. Here is the link for the Linux community. http://www.makemkv.com/forum2/viewforum.php?f=3

If you'd like, I could pose the question there as well. Please let me know.

In the meantime I found a solution .....

I can read the tracklist over the internal webserver from makemkv and the 2 shell scripts for blueray handling are allmost finished ....

So the non-gui part is done ...

I could later produce a package with the 2 shell scripts and 2 makemkv debian packages ...

My collection of bluerays is very huge .. (just 2 No)

If the non gui part could be tested by a lot of poeple would be fine ...

Regards
Hans
Ok I made it ... (;_)

I guess the realy hard part is done ....

The linux shell-functions for blueray are ready to test ......

http://luemmels-dvd-ripper.googlecode.co...-shell.tar

How could someone test the functions ?

Easy unpack the tar inside a directory of your home directory ...

Be sure to have a directory ~/dvdripper and /dvdrip

go to a terminal and execute the following ....

sudo -s

As soon you are root .... do

apt-get install lynx build-essential libc6-dev libssl-dev libgl1-mesa-dev libqt4-dev libbz2-1.0 libgcc1 libstdc++6 zlib1g

now we install the 2 debian packages for 32 Bit Ubuntu
dpkg -i makemkv-v1.5.6-beta-bin_20100613-1_i386.deb
dpkg -i makemkv-v1.5.6-beta-oss_20100613-1_i386.deb

now exit the root shell and go back to our user-account
there a 2 functions to test

change to the directory where you unpacked the tar
By now the command makemkv should startet.
Put in the licence-key into the menu register ...
If you don't have a key ..... you can get one here ...

http://www.makemkv.com/forum2/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1053

./blueray-chapter.sh /dev/sr0

This shell-script should extract the volume-name of the blueray inlcuding the info about all tracks

This generated list will be used inside the script to select the title ....

./blueray-transcode.sh /dev/sr0 /dvdrip 300 1

This would transcode the track 1 (index is starting allways at zero)
on the blueray disk (/dev/sr0) and store the file as /dvdrip/300,mkv

./state.sh
Shows information about a inserted dvd or blueray disc

This is only workaround for problem that I found my new notebook and XBMC 9.11
The python function to return the state of the dvd drive is not working correct ....in any case the return value is 3
adave Wrote:Ah, sorry about that Hans. I assumed you were busy with work or developing another script. Glad to hear you're still working on the ripper. Definitely the most valuable script for XBMC!

Where can I get this debug log? Smile sorry its been a while since i posted Smile
cauzeneffeckt Wrote:Where can I get this debug log? Smile sorry its been a while since i posted Smile

Inside the .xbmc directory is a log ;-)
CU Hans
This is my original post:
I installed your script in the proper location, when I select to RIP, it minimized XBMC. I maximize it and then says ERROR: Script failed!
I checked the dvdripper logs and this is what it says. I have version .6b
blue.txt:
create list of devices
calculate size of rip
cleanup
hstart.exe executed
blue-ends
ddrip.text:
RUNNING DD.EXE
ECHO is on.
ECHO is on.
ECHO is on.

any help would be greatly appreciated.. thanks!
