Just thought I would post a video of me system running in the hope others might do the same. Its always easier to see what things look like when they are running compared with static screen shots.

Very nice video and library Nod
one day mine will be that good lol (love the old school games part)
Awesome, what are your pc's specs?
where did you get the genre images?
Thats looks very nice, not moved over to the new multiplex builds yet. I am very interested in your Megadrive emulators and how you got them working. I've been searching but havent found anything on where to start. Any help?

I would like some help with this too! also how/where did you get the game covers!? thats awesome..
Looks slick. I'm disappointed that Launcher was one thing I was never able to get working nicely -- I wish there was more integration directly in XBMC for launching apps. What OS are you running this on?
- PC Spec :

Core 2 duo 2.6ghz,
4gb Corsair Dominator 1066,
nVidia 9600 1.5gb edition
2 x 32gb solid state drives running raid 0
Logitech Harmony 550

OS : Windows Vita 64

Machine is passive cooled. Only moving parts on the whoel machine are dvd drive ( which never gets used ) & the fan on the psu. I have a zalman heatpiped psu in teh box and the fan never gets used as temp never rises on it Smile The whole rig is silent.. Only way I know it is on is the light on front of case and when see soemthign on tv as it is that quiet.

The tower case to right is my nas box. Running freenas which is built around free bsd and is also passive cooled. It currently has 16tb storage space.

B.T.W. xbmc does not look very smooth in the video this is because I have fraps running and it slows the machine down like crazy. When running normally it runs as smooth as.....well smoth Smile

- genre images :

CF2009 is building up a list you can find info about it in this thread

http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=48435

or get them directly from here

- Emulator :

Used The Launcher App. Finally got it working after a bit of confusion. It is not very slick at moment I have some things to sort out like trying to stop xbmc minimizing when running the emulator software otherwise you get the swap to desktop before emulator gets to full screen mode. Apart from that everything is running smooth.

To get decent artwork in Launcher app I basically used Launchers search yahoo and selected 1st images it found. I then replaced the images it saved in teh cache with my own images.
I will post one later as well, camtasia is good capping software.
THIS is awesome!!

I'm dreaming at night of such a well sorted media center...

...i got managed my movie section... everything else.. looks like shit atm Big Grin

Tell me about your music section.. how did you manage this in such a perfect way? Which programs are you using for tagging? Which folder structure? How did you implement the album and fanarts?

make a little movie and let us have a look "behind the scenes" Smile

edit: I own a harmony 555 too.. pretty laggy with an old terratec IR - receiver.. which ir receiver are u using? RC6 MCE?
Music Directory Structure :

Genre : Artist : Album

eg.

/Alt. Rock/Cold Play/Parachutes
/Alt. Rock/Cold Play/X&Y
/Gothic Rock/Marilyn Manson/Mechanical Animals/

etc

I limited my genre list. If you take a normal list with an album collection of about 10-20 thousand albums you are going to have 100's of genre's. I wanted a selected few so I group everything ( badly at moment I have changes to make Smile in my selection of Genre's I decided on.

I use this tagging program to tag all my flac files with the correct info ( which is needed for xbmc or organise your music in genre etc )

http://www.mp3tag.de/en/

Each band has 2 images.

/Alt. Rock/Cold Play/fanart.jpg 1920x1080 fanart image
/Alt. Rock/Cold Play/folder.jpg 512x512 image used for poster section

Each album has album cover in directory

/Alt. Rock/Cold Play/Parachutes/folder.jpg 512x512 album image

I just used the xbmc scraper to import to library and then run update info for all music. In some cases I had to browse bands and go into Info and manually select artwork.

For Genre ( my collection is not finished yet as you can see form video ) I used the mod from CF2009

http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=48435

Follow instructions on tehre and you can add 2 images per genre.
Great movie, I might upload mine if I get sometime. But I only have the movie section organized, a couple TV shows and that is all. No music so far.
My XBMC, don't really have a lot of stuff, mostly movies, animes and a few tv shows. Didn't add any music inside since I am lazy to organize my music collection Laugh
