1st time poster, long time lurker. I'm sure some of you are familiar with the program. There are many streams on affiliate radio stations. Here's a site with a list of them:
http://www.coaststream.com/stationlist.php
I'd love to listen to the show on my xbox. Thanks to any who attempt it.
Bump. Would love to have this!
Here's a solution (it worked for me) from a short time lurker. I can't post attachments so here's what will work.
Note this solution is not a plugin or script, but it's a playlist that will be found under "Playlists" under the Music option in the main menu. (this may cause this thread to be moved)
Copy and paste the following text into a text editor:
Code:
#EXTINF:0,Coast to Coast AM on KEXO-AM
http://player.cumulusstreaming.com/stations/KEXO-AM/PubPoint.asx
save the file as "Coast to Coast AM.m3u" without the quotes, and verify it doesn't have .txt on the end ("Coast to Coast AM.m3u.txt" won't work).
FTP the newly created file to your xbox in this location:
/Q/UserData/playlists/music
For other people wanting to create their own customized playlist streams you need to find the .pls or .asx stream file. This may have been spelled out elsewhere but here's a way that worked for me (using the Firefox browser):
1. Find an internet radio station or regular radio station that streams live and start the stream (sometimes this is called "listen live")
2. If a new window opens right click somewhere in the new window and choose "View page info" near the bottom of the right click menu.
3. When the "Page Info" window opens, click on the "Media" icon at the top.
4. In the area that says "Address" and "Type" scroll down, you are looking for a line with "Embed" in the "Type" column.
5. Copy and paste the "Address" into a text editor, see if it has .pls or .asx at the end of it. If so it will probably work; if not, repeat this process on a different station (I was able to use the website above and find an .asx stream on the 7th or 8th try).
Enjoy guys.
