I need to modify my smb client settings to set the workgroup name to match my domain name so that authentication works seamlessly whenever I pull movies from my server however the settings don't stick - whenever I stop/start XBMC or the AppleTV is rebooted, the settings are lost.

Is this a known problem?

Is there a file somewhere that I can update so the settings are permanent? I tried changing /Users/frontrow/.smb/smb.conf but it doesn't seem to have helped.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
Did you try in Settings->Network->SMB Client within XBMC?
Yes, I've tried the network settings - XBMC asks to reboot and after the reboot I am back to the default of "workgroup" rather than my domain name. If I don't reboot, then it seems that the setting takes for that session but I cannot find a way to make it permanent.
Sounds like a bug if it doesn't stick so you should file a trac ticket.

Can you check your guisettings.xml file and see if the <workgroup> tag has the correct setting after a reboot.

Thanks.
