I am not able to see the normal skin. I have tried to remove and reinstall XBMC but no luck.

Did you try synergizing backward overflow?
Doing something should fix it. If not, try something else.
Since I am a noob at linux, I just reinstalled ubuntu and XBMC. Thanks everybody your answers and in the future I will be more clear about my questions.
