Full Version: Perfomance issue while browsing libray

Hi all,

I find the performance of XBMC rather poor when it's time to browse my music library.
Even browsing just 1 album with 5 songs inside, it does not display the cover art quickly.
In fact I have to wait many seconds to see all covers (that are all the same).

As explained on the wiki, I uncheked the "Look for thumbs on remote shares" options in the music settings.

Did I missed something while scanning my library ?
Or is there a configuration to speedup the process ?

My setup :
* 11 files, 57 Go
* upnp server: Mediatomb on Ubuntu 9.04 64 bits
* upnp client: XBMC on Windows XP and eeePC 900
* after scanning the library I got a 29Mo MyMusic7.db file

Any comments welcome...

Marc.

@althekiller: the exercise was interesting.
From the log I discovered XBMC creates the thumbs on the fly.
But, it took something like 3 days to scan all the media and add it to library.
Is there a way to force XBMC to directly create the thumb rather than on the fly ?
So I wonder what does XBMC exactly do while adding a source to the library ?

Thanks in advance for any help and explanation.

Marc.
I have to add that the option Settings/Music/Files/Look for thumbs on remote shares
is unchecked.
