.NET Framework 3.5 is required to run this.

I wrote this little Windows app that takes all the movie posters in a directory and builds a desktop wallpaper out of them. It resizes them and makes them all fit onto the resolution desktop that you specify. I did this for my own benefit but wanted to share. Lots of options to how you want the mosaic wallpaper built.
Please post link.
Well, that's the thing... there is not a link yet. I just built it and it is not "consumer" ready without a few tweaks. That's why I was asking here if anyone was interested. If you are... I will make the tweaks and post it for download.
Please do, this sounds pretty cool.
This is funny, I recently took a texture from Aeon, some logos and then shrunk down and rotated some fanart for a background. Good work. Smile
Here is the wallpaper that I created using it for a 3200x1200 resolution. These are all the movies in my movie library in XBMC.

Here's a 720p version of the same exact set of posters.

Here is the GUI as it sits right now.

The only difference between movie posters and album art modes is the apsect ratio used... album art is square and movie posters are not. Smile
Will it pull from within a folder such as:

(movie folder)
......Movie one
>>>>>>>Folder.jpg
......Movie two
>>>>>>>Folder.jpg

That is one of my tweaks... right now I just have it pulling from one folder but I planned to make it a recursive scan. Also I considered making it look for tbn files, too, since that is what XBMC changes the jpg files to (for whatever reason that is).

EDIT
That doesn't totally answer what you asked... Yes, it will.
I've tweaked the app and am just waiting on a licensing issue with a control used in the app and it will be ready for distribution. Here's a link to the help page just to see it and see the settings. It's short reading.

At first I thought this was an app that would look thru folders and resize imagers to a specific size, but none the less this is kinda cool since you could grab images and build a look.

Can you make it so it will fill the entire screen at a specific resolution so there are no blank spots?
I've gotten it as close as I can. It fills as much as it can for the resolution and the number of images to use. Sometimes there is a partial row that is unfinished. The only real way to do it would be to leave some off (the partial row) or to start over and duplicate enough posters to fill the extra space. I guess I could make those options. I had decided to just leave the partial line unfinished.
No biggie, just figured I'd give you something to kick around incase you want to tinker with it some more. Wink
You can download it for free here:

Please report any bugs or feature requests in this thread. Thanks.

Yup, I added the ability to fill the screen by either truncating the list to be as many as will fit exactly or by repeating some to finish out an incomplete row. And I made it portable so there's no install and you can put it on a stick and carry it somewhere if you wanted.
