I know there were few scripts and plugins - but is there anything currently working, to get notification about new emails from outlook/exchange server/owa?

I'd say your best bet is using IMAP (http://www.python.org/doc/2.4/lib/imap4-example.html) if the server allows it...

both look great and IMAP is possible to configure - but i have no idea in python, are there any built tools?
