Full Version: HELP: playercorefactory.xml not loading
You're currently viewing a stripped down version of our content. View the full version with proper formatting.
I have the "playercorefactory.xml" in the "C:\Users\Ethan\AppData\Roaming\XBMC\userdata\ " directory.

Using the "XBMC_for_Windows-9.04.1-repack2.exe" I've blown away XBMC twice and made sure the "..\Roaming\XBMC" and "..\Program Files\XBMC" were deleted before reinstalling from scratch.

I don't even see it trying to load in the "XBMC.log".

What am I missing?
Download "XBMC_for_Windows-9.04.1-repack2.exe", Install it, copy "playercorefactory.xml" to "..\Roaming\XBMC\userdata\" and run XBMC.

Details for the "xbmc.log" and system spec are listed below.

I suspect XBMC_for_Windows-9.04.1-repack2.exe is simply too old.

Cheers,
Jonathan
Really?
I downloaded it off the xbmc.org link to sourceforge just a day or so ago.

Where can I get the latest Windows install of XBMC then?
Take a hunt around the forums in which you have posted. The stickies might be a useful start.
Search the forums or google, several users provide third party "nightly builds". Mind you none of these are officially supported by the team.

EDIT: Damn you jmarshall!
With such a version you need to look here: http://wiki.xbmc.org/?title=HOW-TO_use_a...a_playback

Before a certain SVN, advancedsettings.xml was still used.
Before I started posting, I had read the "HOW-TO use an External Player for media playback" till I was blind.
It never dawned on me that the Build I got from http://xbmc.org/download/ would not have support for the "playercorefactory.xml". Shocked

Thanks for the feedback.
I found a good build running OpenGl and got my playercorefactory.xml working.
I now have networked Blu-ray .ISO goodness in the house.

Thanks for steering me in the right direction! Big Grin

I'll post a detailed Topic with what I downloaded and how I set it up later, with a link from here to that HOWTO of course.
Hey all, looking for information about how to add items to my playercorefactory.xml or the correct place to put them individually, looking to add sop cast :http://forum.xbmc.org/showpost.php?p=832...tcount=207 and StreamTorrent :http://forum.xbmc.org/showpost.php?p=871503&postcount=1 to the sports devil addon.

Looking to run streamtorrent through wine as my machines are running variants of Linux.
