Can someone have some patience?

Dont bump yourself before a min of 24hr wait period!
Here is a great write up on updating live to the latest build.

http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=54350

Some more great resources are found in the forum for linux and live.

Good Luck.
I was kinda wondering this myself earlier this month. I had read that article but I kinda didn't want to dedicate hard drive space to it and thought it kinda defeated the purpose of running a live distro. But I will try it this weekend and see how I like it.Big Grin
lets se...
when i use the xbmc live CD installation
(Ver: May 25 2009 (SVN:20654) / Ubuntu Live (9.04.1)

1080p works very good !

Now i updated to
svn: 23422

using the first part of: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=54350

but now the 1080p movies drop ALOT!!!

can i get back the old drives for the graphic cart or something?
Some things to understand:

DailyBuilds:
If you are running SVN 23422 you are actually running "development"
releases. these daily builds can be at times highly unstable and most
likely will always contain many known/unknown bugs. So if you decide
to use these daily builds you are also saying yes to tweaking/fixing advanced
xbmc featues at all times. This is not a good idea if you are a "regular" user just wanting a stable and working mediacenter experience.

Stable/Official build: (Babylon)
May 25 SVN 20654
This is the latest official build. This version is the one you should be using if
you want a stable and good working/bug free/no hazzle xbmc. You can still
install it to harddisk, just dont do any updates to xbmc.
This is recomended for regular users that do not know to much about linux
and xbmc's inner workings, or if you just dont want to spend time fixing issues.

However if you decide to stay with your current SVN version dont expect that you can post every question/problem you get in these forums and be spoon fed a walktrough on how to fix problems. You need to crawl trough these forums yourself, looking for answer - Probably you will also need to learn yourself alott about linux/ubuntu.

So with this warning you can for yourself make up your mind what you want to do. Wink
why do i want to update?
i want to use Aeon Showmix

and it dont work perfekt in May 25 SVN 20654
so thats why i want to update.... i dont know anything about linux =)
Quote:Note 2: Be aware of the fact that you might need the absolutely latest SVN-revision of xbmc for your desired platform in order to use all the features described here! The offlicial releases/builds of xbmc won't do the job.You will not be able to use all options unless you switch to an unofficial/unsupported SVN version of xbmc!

WARNING: at current time, the xbmc developers are doing a big merge, causing the most recent builds to become highly unstable - so for the time being we can only guarantee that showmix will work with SVN 22516 - usage of any higher version could lead to unexpected results so you are encouraged to not use them right now.. you have been warned!

so all i need/want it to update to 22516

=)
i rest my case since you obviously don't understand what i just told you.
iam sorry... but i lost in the world of linux...
iam searching all the net for answers, but when i thing i on the right way, BOOM, iam shoot down..
