If you're looking for a direct link you could probably use something like this:
http://ppa.launchpad.net/team-xbmc/ppa/u...1_i386.deb
However, the instructions that you're sent to are for enabling the software management system (Apt) to download xbmc and all of it's dependencies for you. Doing it in this fashion will also allow distribution of updates and such as well.
the link i posted is to download the xbmc s/w.
The links for live, windows, apple and osx seem to work but the download for linux just give instrctions.
is the link posted by maxim a link to the official release for linux?
Many thanks
Ian
xbmc doesn't host pre-compiled linux binaries.
where to download / how to install depends on the linux distro you're using.
Yes the link I provided is a pre-compiled binary debian package built by Team XBMC for distribution using APT.
So this is my 1st time trying to install XBMC on ubantu. Where can I d/L the correct ver?
My prev experience has been on the original Xbox H/W, live and Windows. I am looking to migrate to linux for the HD H/W acceleration support.
Is there another thread I should be reading/understanding 1st?
