Full Version: Using headphones with Asrock?

My TV unfortunately doesn't have a headphone socket. Stupid thing not to have on a TV but there you go.

My Asrock is plugged into my TV via HDMI. I was hoping I could plug headphones into the AsRock should I wish to use them but when I plug in my headphones no sound comes through.

Is there an easyway to enable sound through headphones instead of HDMI when plugged in?

Thanks
what version are you running?

You need to make sure your audio is set to analogue in XBMC.

If it on windows, you'll need to set the default output device as the analouge out (not HDMI HD Audio or SPDIF) from the audio properties.

If its Ubuntu, you'll need to set the same but in alsa mixer from the command line or the equivilent gui from gnome depending of the install.

I'd try the XBMC setting on its own 1st, it may be enough.
Sorry, it's Ubuntu. I will try. thanks

You have to select "analog output" in the "volume control panel", in gnome.

If you've installed from the 'live' version, gnome is not available.

As stated, alsamixer run from cli/ssh and do the same job.
