I just received my new Acer Aspire Revo the other day and I have it working pretty good now, except for one thing.

I can play non HD content and the audio works fine through HDMI but when I try to play anything HD, I just get a bunch of hissing.

Any ideas? I've been through most of the various tutorials and can't see where I've messed up.

Thanks for the link but I already have everything installed that way and just had a sound issue. I messed with a few more settings and got it working. I had the AC3 and DTS receiver settings checked in Audio Hardware, but I don't have it wired to a receiver, just the tv. When I unchecked them and played some HD content everything was fine.

post your xorg.conf here and a Picture from Your Video and Screen settings

Do you have open the Alsamixer in the Shell once and edited it ?

In the Shell type Alsamixer and all must be activated by pressing Button M
