Ok, I upgraded to alpha 2 and now Ubuntu's samba is not working. I can no longer access network shares from other computers which has all the movies. Anyone else having the same problem? Is there a fix?
Go into the file manager and edit your share, enter your user name and password for the share it should work after that.
You are missing the point. XBMC can not access any shares.

I figured out that the samba package was uninstalled for some reason(I can not prove that the XBMC upgrade is at fault at this time). SMB access was working nicely before the 9.11 alpha2 upgrade. After I reinstalled the samba within Ubuntu, Linux now is able to access the SMB shares. XBMC still can not access SMB shares.

If the credential config was in the latest version, like the previous one this would not be a problem.
