I was watching a burned DVD with the girlfriend and it repeatedly stopped playing at the FBI warning, then upon restarting the video, it stopped playing again at that point. The DVD is in good condition, SVN of XBOX plays the DVD just fine.

and here's another one where the DVD stopped later on while I was watching a movie. Kept stopping at the same point every time.

It's kinda embarissing because I was bragging about this and then it just made me look bad.
oh yeah, a bit more... it's a new computer that I bought just for XBMC. So the DVD player is good. it's gotta be the software.
libdvdnav is a hit or miss with encrypted DVDs, older DVDs tend to work, newer ones, who knows. You xbmc.log file clearly shows a problem in decrypting the DVD.
is there a plan for revamping the dvd decoding? I thought dvd decoding was basic. How come the XBOX can handle it just fine?

XBOX uses the same libdvdnav code, are you saying you have a DVD that plays on XBMC for XBOX but does not play on XBMC for <insert platform here> ?
yes. and with a new dvd player none-the-less. on two separate disks.

Humm, might be wrong about xbox. It might use mplayer to play dvds.
I believe you are correct. mplayer sounds right. Should I submit a bug report?
